Education

  • Completion of an accredited MRI program required.

Experience / Qualifications

  • American Registry Radiologic Technologists in MRI- ARRT,(R), (MR) and /or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists - ARMRIT
  • American Heart Association BLS, for Heath Care Provider
  • 2 years’ experience performing MRI/MRA preferred
  • Advanced training in breast MRI and vascular MPR/IVI post processing preferred
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing

Position Summary

The MRI Technologist performs all MRI/MRA procedures, abdominal, pelvic, head/skull, thorax, breast and extremities. 

  • Excellent knowledge of the human anatomy & pathology and uses this knowledge to provide quality MRI images for interpretation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced computer applications including PACS and Image manipulation for image enhancement.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principals involved in MRI and the ability to adjust them to each patient.
  • Participates and supports continuous quality improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time.  The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.
