The Seasonal Guest Services Staff are part-time, seasonal positions focused on providing great experiences at the Hutchinson Zoo. This position helps provide a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for guests of all ages. The employee will be responsible for supervising rider safety, assisting guests with loading and unloading, conducting basic safety inspections and maintaining clean and orderly attraction areas.

A Day in the Life

    • Oversee and monitor the pedal boat ride area to ensure safe use by guests.
    • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the train and pedal boats.
    • Enforce ride safety rules and explain attraction guidelines to guests in a clear, friendly manner.
    • Perform routine pre-operation and post-operation inspections of the train, boats, docks, and surrounding areas.
    • Require equipment issues, safety concerns, accidents, or maintenance needs to be reported to supervisory staff promptly.
    • Maintain attraction areas in a clean and presentable condition, including picking up litter and organizing equipment.
    • Provide excellent customer service and respond professionally to guest questions and concerns.
    • Monitor weather and operating conditions and suspend attraction use when safety requires.
    • Operate the train in a safe and courteous manner according to established procedures.
    • Support general zoo operations, including selling fish food and working in the gift shop as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Guest Service Coordinator.

What you'll need for success:

  • EDUCATION: A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • EXPERIENCE: Good Customer Service skills. S
  • LICENSE: A valid Driver's License is required.
