Job description

We are looking to add an Overnight Manager to our team. This position is responsible for overseeing all operations within hotel during the overnight shift, ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining security, managing overnight staff, and acting as the primary point of contact for any issues that arise overnight.
Job description
  • Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property
  • Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Front Office department/Overnight Staff making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set in the employee handbook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training and correcting where needed.
  • Maintain a professional and high-quality service oriented environment at all times
  • Act as manager on duty for the hotel in the absence of the Front Office Manager dealing with complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise
  • Manage the night shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments
  • Inform all Overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.
  • Exercise key control, process lost and found items
  • Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of property
  • Conduct Fire Watch when needed
  • Promote safe work practices to include life safety inspections
  • Initiates preliminary investigations into incidents, as needed
  • Writes reports and ensures accuracy of necessary documentation, as needed
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred or
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years' experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
  • Intermediate knowledge of overall hotel operations.
  • Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.
