Description:

The Mechanic is a critical contributor to Vault Pressure Control’s operations, ensuring the reliability, safety, and readiness of all tools and equipment used in the field. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, assembling, testing, certifying, and accurately documenting all equipment repair work. By consistently upholding VPC quality and safety standards, the Mechanic ensures every asset is fully compliant and deployment ready, supporting safe, efficient, and dependable operational performance.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, disassemble, clean, repair, reassemble, test mechanical components, and equipment function.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on various oilfield service equipment.
  • Conduct pressure, function, and quality testing checks per procedure prior to deployment.
  • Identify wear, damage, or defects and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Manage supplies, tooling, and equipment needed for maintenance and repair work.
  • Maintain accurate service, inspection, and repair documentation on all work performed.
  • Follow all VPC safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Comply with all customer safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with department leaders on equipment requirements and provide updates as necessary.
  • Prepare equipment for jobs and handle post-job evaluations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Provide support for initiatives aimed at minimizing downtime and enhancing asset turnaround times.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce cost of quality (COQ).
  • Assist in customer incident reporting (CIR) investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Attend safety, quality, service, and production meetings as required.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on deployed equipment in remote field locations as necessary.
  • Operate vehicles including forklifts, man-lifts, overhead cranes, jib cranes as needed to complete job tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience / Knowledge

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
  • 2+ years of mechanical experience (oilfield equipment, or similar).
  • Valid drivers license with demonstrated safe driving record.
  • Strong mechanical skills to diagnose, repair and perform preventative maintenance on oil field equipment.
  • Ability to read work instructions, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Competent in using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment.
  • Proficient in utilizing digital management systems.
  • Able to clearly report equipment status, suggest repairs, and coordinate with colleagues.
  • Work in and around industrial settings which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature condition and loud machinery that require PPE.
  • Exposure to heat, cold, wet, snow and other adverse weather conditions.
  • Occasionally perform duties at remote fracturing sites.
  • Subject to callouts to respond to operational issues and emergencies after hours, at night, and on weekends or holidays.
  • Periodic overnight travel may be necessary.
