Job description

Overnight Baker – Premium Pay

Location: Save More Food Market – Minocqua, Wisconsin

Save More Food Market is seeking a dependable and motivated Overnight Baker to join the Bakery Department at our Minocqua location. This position receives an overnight pay premium in addition to the regular hourly wage.

The Overnight Baker is responsible for preparing the bakery for the day by baking fresh products, frying donuts, and ensuring everything is ready for our customers each morning.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, bake, and finish breads, rolls, pastries, cookies, and other bakery products
  • Fry, glaze, fill, frost, and decorate donuts
  • Follow established recipes, production schedules, and portion standards
  • Monitor ovens, fryers, proofers, and other bakery equipment
  • Ensure products meet our standards for freshness, appearance, taste, and quality
  • Package, label, price, and stock completed bakery products
  • Maintain appropriate production levels while minimizing waste
  • Keep work areas, equipment, utensils, and floors clean and sanitary
  • Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and fryer-safety procedures
  • Assist with inventory, ingredient rotation, and preparation for upcoming production
  • Work independently to complete daily production and have the bakery ready for opening
Qualifications
  • Must be dependable and comfortable working independently overnight
  • Previous bakery, donut-frying, restaurant, or food-production experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
  • Ability to follow recipes, production plans, and food-safety procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality products
  • Ability to manage time effectively and complete production by established deadlines
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be available to work overnight hours, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
