Job description

Bring Better to the Bedside as a Hospital Medicine Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner in Albuquerque, New Mexico at University of New Mexico Hospital
We believe in bringing "better" to our local community in Albuquerque-better care, better collaboration, and a deep commitment to the people we serve. We'd love to talk if you're looking for a role that supports your professional growth and connection to a vibrant community.
We are hiring for a nocturnist position. A nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.
Local Team Collaboration:
  • Join our well-established team of fourteen physicians and two nocturnist APPs at the University of New Mexico Hospital.
  • Work alongside a unique group of clinicians with diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds.
  • We work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure a seamless transition of care.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
  • Active NP license or eligible to become licensed in New Mexico.
  • Acute care certification required.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Flexible Scheduling:
  • 7pm-7am, 7 on/off
  • We offer various flexible scheduling options to promote a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, comprehensive medical and post-operative patient care.
  • Utilize Cerner EMR systems and Sound's internal informatics platform.
  • Support the rapid response team and attend codes as a courtesy run by the ICU team.
  • The hospital has a closed ICU, and our hospitalist team is not responsible for procedures.

Living and Working in Albuquerque:
  • Albuquerque isn't just where we work-it's where we live, raise our families, and embrace the unique charm of a city rich in culture and natural beauty.
  • From breathtaking views of the Sandia Mountains and vibrant annual events like the Balloon Fiesta to family-friendly neighborhoods, a thriving arts scene, and incredible New Mexican cuisine, Albuquerque offers something for everyone.

Albuquerque-Centered Care:
  • Patient care is our top priority, always.
  • We value and support growth and development in our hospital medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We're a community-minded team, deeply committed to supporting community health and wellness within and outside the hospital. Our collective efforts make a meaningful impact in our community.

Compensation and Rewards:
  • Compensation:
    • $160k base salary.
    • Quality and productivity incentives offered.
  • Sound offers a robust training program for incoming APPs who have not worked in a hospitalist environment.
