Position Summary

The Gas Attendant / Fuel Service Associate is responsible for providing prompt, friendly, and efficient full-service fueling assistance to customers at New Jersey fuel stations. This role ensures safe fuel dispensing, delivers excellent customer service, and maintains a clean and organized fueling area.

Gas Attendants support daily fuel operations by assisting customers at the pump, processing payments when required, monitoring fuel islands, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full-service fueling assistance to customers in accordance with New Jersey state law
  • Greet customers promptly and provide courteous and professional customer service
  • Safely dispense gasoline and diesel fuel into customer vehicles
  • Process payments and handle cash and credit transactions when required
  • Monitor the fuel pump area for safety hazards and maintain a safe fueling environment
  • Maintain cleanliness of the fuel island, pump area, and surrounding forecourt
  • Assist with minor vehicle service requests when applicable (e.g., windshield cleaning)
  • Follow all fuel handling safety procedures and environmental regulations
  • Communicate any fuel equipment issues, spills, or safety concerns to store management
  • Support store team members during busy periods when needed
  • Represent the company with a friendly, helpful, and professional attitude


Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Gas Attendant, Fuel Service Associate, or Customer Service Associate preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to follow fuel safety procedures and environmental guidelines
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced service environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Outdoor work environment at a fuel station forecourt

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds when assisting with supplies or equipment
  • Exposure to weather conditions, vehicle traffic, and fuel vapors
  • Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and standing
