Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join an experienced and reputable hand surgeon and PA in a fast-paced private practice setting. This role is ideal for an RN seeking a rewarding specialty outpatient position with close physician collaboration and a strong team culture.

The clinic nurse serves as a key clinical team member and essentially serves as the face of this provider’s practice – answering patient questions, coordinating the physician OR schedule, assisting with in-office procedures, occasionally serving as a first assist in the operating room, and providing some direct patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who value meaningful patient relationships, teamwork, and professional growth in a specialized orthopedic setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and post-care instructions.
  • Assist physicians and providers during clinic and in-office procedures.
  • Provide occasional assistance in the operating room.
  • Prepare equipment and treatment rooms for procedures and patient visits.
  • Manage physician surgery schedules and assist with care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support efficient clinic flow.
  • Provide direct patient care, including bandage changes, suture removal, casting, and splint application/removal.

Qualifications

  • Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Computer proficiency and comfort with electronic medical records

Experience

Experience in orthopedics, surgery, or outpatient clinic setting is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive pay
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • 401(k) with retirement match
  • Profit sharing
  • Uniform allowance
  • Continuing education support
