Overnight Remote Insurance information

What is an overnight remote insurance job?

Overnight remote insurance jobs are positions within the insurance industry that require employees to work night shifts while performing their duties from a remote location, such as their home. These roles can include customer service representatives, claims processors, or underwriters who assist clients, process claims, or manage policies outside of standard business hours. The flexibility of remote work combined with overnight scheduling allows insurance companies to provide 24/7 support to customers. These jobs typically require good communication skills, attention to detail, and reliable internet access.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an overnight remote insurance agent?

To thrive as an Overnight Remote Insurance Agent, you need a solid understanding of insurance products, policy regulations, and customer service, often supported by a state insurance license. Familiarity with CRM platforms, insurance quoting software, and secure communication tools is typically required. Excellent written communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills help agents effectively address client needs during off-hours. These skills ensure agents can provide timely, accurate support and maintain client satisfaction while working independently in a remote, overnight setting.

What are the unique challenges of working overnight shifts in a remote insurance role?

Working overnight in a remote insurance role can present challenges such as maintaining effective communication with daytime colleagues, managing fatigue, and ensuring consistent productivity during non-traditional hours. You may also handle urgent policyholder requests or claims with limited immediate support, requiring strong problem-solving skills and self-reliance. However, many companies offer robust digital tools, virtual team check-ins, and flexible support structures to help overnight staff stay connected and efficient.

Job description

Telehealth Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine Physician – Urgent Care service line

W2 Opportunity
Fully Remote

About the Role

StationMD is seeking experienced Telehealth Physicians with backgrounds in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Urgent Care to deliver high-quality virtual medical care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) across the United States.

This fully remote telemedicine opportunity is ideal for physicians with several years of hands-on clinical experience who are interested in transitioning into telehealth as a long-term career. StationMD physicians provide timely, specialized virtual care to a unique and often underserved patient population, helping reduce unnecessary emergency room visits while improving access to compassionate, clinically appropriate medical support.

StationMD clinicians are board-certified medical professionals specially trained to care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through our telemedicine model, our providers collaborate closely with caregivers, residential teams, and support staff to evaluate urgent and non-urgent medical concerns, guide appropriate care decisions, and help patients receive the right level of care at the right time.

As a Telehealth Physician, you will provide virtual urgent care and medical consultations during scheduled shifts. This role offers the ability to work fully remotely from anywhere in the continental United States, with no overnight requirement and no on-call responsibilities.

About StationMD

At StationMD, we are transforming access to healthcare for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Every StationMD clinician is board-certified and specially trained to care for this unique and often underserved population.

Our clinicians deliver compassionate, high-quality telemedicine services 24/7, addressing both urgent and non-urgent medical needs. Through timely, specialized virtual care, we help reduce unnecessary emergency room visits, improve overall health outcomes, and ensure individuals with I/DD receive the thoughtful, expert attention they deserve.

In addition to on-demand urgent care, StationMD provides scheduled psychiatry services and triage nursing via telemedicine. Together, this comprehensive suite of services expands access to quality healthcare while significantly lowering avoidable medical costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on demand virtual urgent care and medical consultations during scheduled telehealth shifts
  • Evaluate and manage urgent and non-urgent medical concerns through secure telemedicine technology
  • Use clinical judgment to determine appropriate care recommendations, escalation needs, and follow-up guidance
  • Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through patient-centered, compassionate care
  • Collaborate with caregivers, residential staff, nurses, and interdisciplinary clinical team members
  • Help reduce unnecessary emergency room visits by providing timely access to physician-level medical care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly within telehealth platforms and EMR systems
  • Communicate clearly with support teams regarding care plans, recommendations, and next steps
  • Maintain professional, responsive communication during scheduled shifts
  • Participate in structured clinical onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Attend required team meetings and clinical education sessions
  • Work with StationMD’s credentialing and licensing team to maintain multi-state licensure, enrollment, and insurance credentialing

Scheduling & Time Commitment:

  • As a full-time physician, you will work on average 30 hours a week and commit to 36 weekend hours a month and 36 holiday hours a year.
  • As a part-time physician, you will work on average 20 hours per week and commit to 24 weekend hours a month and 24 holiday hours a year.

Full-time physicians are eligible for benefits, including:

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Disability coverage
  • 401(k) match
  • 80 hours of paid time-off per year

This position is fully remote and does not require overnight shifts or on-call coverage. Scheduling can be flexible. Specific requests are considered as part of the monthly scheduling process, provided they align with service line coverage needs. You will be scheduled in blocks of 3 to 12 hours based on your preference and service line needs allowing for optimal flexibility.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine, MD, or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, DO
  • Board Certified in one of the following specialties:

  • Experience treating individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, I/DD, preferred but not required
  • Comfortable evaluating patients and making clinical decisions in a remote telehealth environment
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state
  • Willingness to obtain additional multi-state licenses with StationMD support. Licensure and renewal costs in StationMD states will be paid for by StationMD
  • Active unrestricted DEA license
  • Clean malpractice and sanction history
  • U.S. citizen or Green Card holder
  • Must reside within the continental United States
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with caregivers, residential teams, and clinical colleagues
