What You'll Do

In this role, you'll support the design and delivery of fire protection systems for industrial manufacturing and distribution facilities. You'll work under the direction of a licensed fire protection engineer and collaborate with engineers, senior designers, and cross-functional project teams to develop code-compliant solutions. This position plays an important role in protecting people, facilities, and operations while supporting permit acquisition and construction. You'll gain practical experience in system analysis, field evaluations, specifications, calculations, and design documentation as you build your fire protection engineering expertise.

  • Support the design of sprinkler, fire alarm, and special hazard systems for industrial manufacturing and distribution facilities

  • Perform fire protection system analysis, sizing, calculations, and design under the direction of a licensed fire protection engineer

  • Develop coordinated drawings, plans, specifications, and technical reports for permit acquisition and construction

  • Review and interpret International Fire Code requirements, NFPA standards, and applicable local codes

  • Conduct field evaluations of existing fire protection systems and document observed conditions

  • Assist engineers and senior designers with fire protection consulting and design activities across multiple project phases

  • Coordinate fire protection requirements with on-site and remote multidisciplinary project teams

  • Support review of design documents for consistency, accuracy, and constructability

  • Apply project standards and engineering practices to deliver reliable, code-compliant solutions

  • Support client-site activities, including installation, start-up, meetings, and training, as required

What You'll Bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or a related fire protection technology degree

  • Foundational experience completing fire protection system analysis, sizing, design, drawing production, specifications, or technical report writing

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to read and apply fire protection codes, standards, drawings, and technical documentation

  • Ability to travel for project requirements, including client-site activities, installation and start-up support, meetings, training, seminars, forums, and conventions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fire protection engineering design experience supporting industrial facility projects

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, or Navisworks

  • Engineer-in-Training certification

Compensation

The approximate pay range for this position is$75,000 - $90,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as geographic location of the position.
