SUMMARY:

Primary duties include operating a heavy-duty delivery vehicle at facilities as needed throughout the region. Delivering petroleum products to customers in a timely and efficient manner. This is a floating driver position that will be required to travel and work between multiple facilities for an extended time as necessary.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The Company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time. All work is to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with Company standards. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the complete, safe and accurate delivery of petroleum products to customers in the delivery area.
  • Possess and maintain a Class A CDL. Must have HAZMAT and tanker endorsements.
  • Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen and will be subject to random drug testing throughout the duration of their employment.
  • Requires some overnight/out-of-state driving to pick-up/source product from vendors or other PL locations.
  • Plays a major Customer Service role and honor customer requests such as cleaning tanks, offering ancillary products, placing products in a specified location, etc.
  • Understands customer emergency needs and plays a major role in the emergency delivery service offering. Required to make emergency deliveries as needed. These requests may occur at any time throughout a seven-day workweek. May require work on evenings or weekends as business demands.
  • Interacts positively with customers in all segments of a business. Required to always act both professionally and personably.
  • Follows all DOT regulations and protocols.
  • Maintains regular communication with internal business partners on route updates and delivery changes.
  • Performs pre and post trip inspections on all vehicles operated to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Reports any issues or malfunctions to Branch and Fleet leadership.

COMPETENCY:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Has the ability to safely and efficiently maneuver a truck on the roadways and highways.
  • Has basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Has an ability to follow GPS route instructions.
  • Must be able to operate smartphone or handheld electronic device.
  • Must be able to operate all delivery vehicle types at a location.

Travel:

Ability to travel up to 100% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MATH ABILITY:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Experience working in an ERP environment is desirable.
