Job description

Direct Support Professional (DSP) – $17.00–$19.50/hr + $1,000 Signing Bonus

Abound Health is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide in-home support services for an individual living independently in thier own apartment. This individual enjoys coloring, playing games on her tablet, watching classic television shows, and spending time with her small dog.

This position is ideal for caregivers who enjoy building meaningful relationships while providing hands-on support that promotes comfort, dignity, and independence.

What You'll Do

As a DSP, you will provide personalized support and assistance to help this individual safely remain in her home and community. Responsibilities include:

  • Build a positive and supportive relationship with the individual
  • Provide full assistance with transfers and positioning
  • Assist with all activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care and hygiene
  • Support health, comfort, and safety throughout each shift
  • Assist with meal setup and beverages as needed
  • Provide companionship and engage in preferred activities such as coloring, tablet games, and watching television
  • Monitor for needs and respond appropriately throughout overnight shifts
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment
  • Communicate effectively with family members and the Abound Health team
  • Complete required documentation and service notes
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
  • Willingness to provide hands-on personal care and transfer assistance
  • Ability to lift and assist as required by client needs
  • Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor
  • Strong communication skills

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required—paid training is provided.

  • 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Companion Services)
Thursday
  • 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Companion Services)

Pay & Signing Bonus

  • Starting Pay: $17.00–$19.50/hour
  • Signing Bonus: $1,000 paid in 3 installments when averaging full-time hours
