Lead the Future of Headache Medicine at a Premier Academic Medical Center

The Department of Neurology is embarking on an exciting journey of growth and innovation in the field of Headache Medicine. With the recent recruitment of two new headache specialists, we are in search of a visionary and collaborative leader to take on the role of Section Chief of Headache Medicine, aiming to elevate this expanding program to new heights.

This is a unique chance to influence the clinical, academic, and research trajectory of a developing Headache Medicine program within a top-tier academic medical institution and an integrated healthcare system dedicated to excellence, discovery, and education.

A Leadership Role With Real Impact

The Section Chief of Headache Medicine will be responsible for providing strategic oversight for the section's clinical operations, research projects, and educational objectives. This position presents an opportunity to build on a solid foundation while shaping the future of headache care, scholarship, and training within our organization.

In this role, the Section Chief will lead a multidisciplinary team of physicians and advanced practice providers, delivering cutting-edge, patient-centered care. The section includes a UCNS-accredited Headache Medicine fellowship program, providing a significant platform for the Section Chief to train and mentor the next generation of headache specialists while advancing innovative clinical and research initiatives.

A Collaborative, Mission-Driven Leadership Team

The Section Chief will act as the physician leader of the Headache Medicine leadership team, collaborating closely with the Practice Manager and Nurse Manager to steer the overall direction and performance of the section. This team works to ensure alignment with the Department of Neurology, our healthcare system, and the affiliated medical school, fostering a culture rooted in shared purpose, mutual respect, and psychological safety.

This position offers a blend of clinical practice, administrative leadership, and academic involvement, tailored to the successful candidate's experience and interests.

Who We Are Looking For

We are in search of a distinguished physician leader who is passionate about clinical excellence, education, mentorship, and program development. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading or expanding a busy outpatient service and possess a strong understanding of the academic mission encompassing clinical care, teaching, and research.

  • UCNS certification in Headache Medicine
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New Hampshire and Vermont
  • Proven experience or interest in academic leadership, program development, and faculty mentorship
  • A commitment to inclusive leadership and collaborative care
  • Qualification for the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the affiliated medical school
  • Board certification in either Neurology, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine by the ABPN, ABIM, or AOA
