Job description

EVS Floor Tech - Overnight

Location: Atlanta, GA, 30314

About the Role

We are looking for dependable and hardworking individual to join our environmental team at Sadie G. Mays Health and Rehab. The purpose of this position is to perform duties in accordance with established organizational policies and procedures to provide a safe environment. This is achieved by demonstrating the principles of cleaning, disinfection, and quality assurance toward the reduction of harmful pathogens for the benefit of patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors according to established procedures.
  • Clean up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed.
  • Use cleaning and maintenance chemicals and floor equipment properly, following written procedures of the environmental services department.
  • Measure chemicals accurately and operate chemical dispensing units safely.
  • Label chemicals correctly and maintain proper storage of chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Respond favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignments to meet facility needs.
  • Maintain contact with patients and family members while executing assigned tasks, ensuring professionalism and respect.
Required Skills amp; Qualifications
  • Technical skills required to properly use cleaning and maintenance chemicals and floor equipment.
  • Ability to follow established organizational policies and procedures related to environmental services.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance and infection control.
  • Dependable and hardworking with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to perform a variety of simple repetitive tasks, many of which will involve unpleasant conditions.
  • Practical knowledge of day-to-day cleaning in a nursing facility.
Preferred Experience

Two years of experience in long-term care/ skilled nursing facility settings.
