Job description

As a physician-led entity, our organization merges the independence and community feel of a private practice with the reliability and resources of a renowned national healthcare network.

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to join our Hospitalist Medicine Division as a Nocturnist, someone who is keen to make a significant difference in the health of our community!

Opportunity Overview
  • Position Type: Full Time (1.0 FTE) Nights
  • Schedule:
  • Each facility is supported overnight by teams consisting of 2-5 physicians and 1-2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), with overlapping coverage from:
    • Ann Arbor:
      • Three physicians are assigned to cover Ann Arbor.
    • Chelsea:
      • Independent coverage is necessary at Chelsea and Livingston.
    • Livingston:
      • Independent coverage is necessary at Chelsea and Livingston.
    • Location: Candidates can choose two from the following three sites:
      • Chelsea Hospital
      • Trinity Health Ann Arbor
      • Trinity Health Livingston
Qualifications
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Valid State of Michigan Medical License
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Experience in Hospitalist Medicine is preferred
Key Responsibilities

A typical night may involve:

  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver direct inpatient care
  • Monitoring and managing both acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Responding to clinical changes and patient deteriorations
    • Livingston: Supervising Code Blue situations
  • Ensuring accurate clinical documentation and adherence to coding and billing regulations
  • Handling up to 8 admissions during a shift
  • Overseeing APPs regarding admissions and cross-coverage matters
