Job description

Shipp Belting is hiring an experienced Heavyweight Belting Installer for our Lufkin, TX location. If you have hands-on experience installing, splicing, and maintaining conveyor belting in industrial settings, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Install, splice, and repair heavyweight/heavy-duty conveyor belting on-site at customer facilities

Perform hot and cold vulcanized splicing

Read and interpret belt specifications, drawings, and job orders

Operate installation tools and equipment safely (belt clamps, hydraulic presses, cutting tools, etc.)

Travel to customer sites throughout the region, including some overnight travel

Troubleshoot belt tracking, tension, and wear issues

Maintain accurate service records and communicate with dispatch/sales team

Follow all safety protocols (fall protection, lockout/tagout, PPE) on active industrial sites

Qualifications

2+ years of experience installing or splicing conveyor belting (heavyweight preferred) โ€” industrial, mining, aggregate, or manufacturing environments

Working knowledge of hot/cold vulcanizing and mechanical splicing methods

Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment

Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around heavy machinery

Valid driverโ€™s license with clean driving record; CDL a plus

Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions

Strong safety mindset and attention to detail

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a crew

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

OSHA 10/30 certification

Experience with heavy-duty/high-tension industrial belting (mining, aggregate, power generation)

Forklift certification
