Job description
We are seeking a qualified Construction ICC Special Inspector / ACI Field Technician to perform field inspections and testing on commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with structural concrete, steel, welding, soils, and masonry inspections while ensuring compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and applicable building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform special inspections and field testing on construction projects in accordance with ICC and project requirements
Inspect structural concrete, reinforcing steel, masonry, welding, bolting, and soils
Review construction drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
Document inspection findings and prepare daily field reports
Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and supervisors regarding inspection results and deficiencies
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and project specifications
Maintain accurate testing and inspection documentation
Communicate inspection updates and daily assignments with dispatch and supervisors
Required Qualifications:
ACI Field Technician Grade I certification
ICC certifications in one or more of the following:
Reinforced Concrete
Structural Masonry
Structural Steel and Welding
Structural Steel Bolting
Soils
Strong knowledge of construction methods and inspection procedures
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and reporting accuracy
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Prior experience in commercial or industrial construction inspection
Experience preparing technical field reports
Ability to work independently in fast-paced field environments
Work Environment:
Construction site environment
