Job description

Here at Home Market Foods our Facilities Technician II, 3rd Shift is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and safety of our organization's physical infrastructure. You will ensure that everything from electrical, plumbing, HVAC (including boiler and wastewater) and security systems operates efficiently so the building remains functional. This is a 3rd shift role with the hours of 10:00pm to 6:30am, Sunday through Thursday (may require holidays and some additional days when necessary)

Primary Assignments:

  • Act as Lead Technician on projects and assignments supporting this overnight shift
  • Ensure all mechanical/electrical equipment supporting the facility is maintained and functioning properly, and make necessary repairs and/or perform maintenance, HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, generators
  • Perform basic facility repairs in, but not limited to, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical
  • Verification and documentation of proper operation of mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, Ammonia systems, wastewater system, air-conditioning systems
  • Liaison for vendors when accessing scheduled services
  • Provide technical assistance on facilities maintenance-related items
  • Support preventive maintenance (PM) programs to ensure that all building systems, elements, and components are maintained and serviced accordingly
  • Assist Facilities Supervisor with vendor relationships, contracts and purchasing best practices
  • Familiarity with cGMP/GMP

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or Three to Five [3-5] years Facilities Specialist experience [The completion of technical program is preferred]
  • Valid US Driver's License required
  • Current 2nd class Firemen's license and/or Boiler Operator license or obtained within 6 months
  • Current level one or higher wastewater or obtained within 6 months
  • Current ammonia level 2 operator certificate or obtained within 6 months
  • Must have good oral and written communications skills with the ability to read, write and comprehend the English language [Other languages a plus]
  • Knowledge of the use and operation of hand tools, power tools, and auxiliary construction equipment
  • Understand and be able to use and interpret construction drawings, including architectural and mechanical details, and construction manuals
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations related to LOTO, MSDS, Confined Space and Hot Work
  • Experience/certification operating a forklift/manlift
  • Must possess good time management and organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, work well in a team setting with other technicians and trades professionals
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software Suite and Megamation (CMMS)
  • OSHA 10 Certification
