NHT Logistics, Inc. is a family-owned trucking, cold storage and brokerage company located in Denver, PA. Join our team as we aim for excellence in everything we do.
Purpose: We are seeking a professional and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver responsible for the timely and secure transportation of goods across the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and throughout the mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwest regions. The CDL A Driver will be in complete support of and willing adherence to NHTs mission, vision and core values. Applicant must hold these standards as his/her own.
This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The driver will be responsible for operating equipment safely, managing freight handling, and utilizing company-provided technology to ensure accurate navigation and reporting.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
Safe Operations
Safely operates equipment to transport goods ensuring quality customer service and timely deliveries to the five
boroughs in NYC, Long Island and other locations throughout the mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwest regions.
Safely loads and unloads trailers and break down freight.
Adheres to all traffic laws and DOT regulations and drives in a safe, courteous manner.
Provide accurate, neat and complete paperwork.
Navigate routes via GPS and other in-field technology provided by the company.
Maintains accurate logs, driving hours and other activities as required to maintain compliance with federal and
state laws and regulations, utilizing an in cab ELD where applicable.
Inspections
Conducts thorough pre-trip, in-route and post-trip inspections of tires, lights, brakes and fuel to ensure the vehicle
and cargo are safe and in working condition.
Reports any repairs or mechanical defects or maintenance of tractors and trailers immediately.
Maintains clean and organized equipment.
Needed Education & Experience:
Must have and maintain a valid Class A CDL
Hold a valid drivers license for a minimum of three years (does not need to be a CDL license)
Valid DOT Medical Card
Ability to utilize technology as it relates to E-Log software
Clean motor vehicle record with no serious violations within the last 3 years
Skills & Competencies: NHT will train in these areas
Must be willing to learn how to haul nest run eggs and be comfortable navigating tight farms, sometimes in
inclement weather.
Must be willing to learn multiple delivery appointments at varied times both day and night.
Will develop a basic understanding of single and dual zone trailers and learn how to use a bulkhead
Will gain knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws and how they apply to commercial motor vehicle
operations.
Will learn how to use tension bars and E-track bars to properly secure palletized freight.
Will receive training towards power jack certification.
Will gain experience using an electric pallet jack in a trailer load and unload pallets on a dock, the street, and with
the use of a liftgate.
Will become familiar with ELDs.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions:
Comfortable operating in a variety of environmental conditions including adverse weather.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Frequent physical activity, which includes bending and climbing in and out of the truck and trailer multiple times
per day.
Capable of handling freight and lifting 50 pounds or more.
Hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Visual and hearing acuity to safely perform all job functions.
Comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments, including conditions as cold as negative 20 degrees.
Work Hours: Varies
Travel: 100% on the road. Must be willing to be out overnight, if needed, with the potential for multiple nights in a row.
