Job description

OB/GYN Nocturnist Opportunity

Our organization is on the lookout for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN Nocturnist to enhance our expanding team at our facility. This role will primarily be situated at our Willowbrook campus, focusing on overnight, in-house coverage for Labor & Delivery and Obstetrics services.

Qualifications
  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology

  • Demonstrated clinical judgment with the capability to independently manage high-acuity obstetric patients

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach

  • Previous experience as a nocturnist or in a hospital-based OB/GYN role is preferred

  • Interest in resident education and supervision is a plus (not mandatory)

Responsibilities
  • Work two nights per week (no weekends)

  • 15-hour shifts from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM

  • Provide overnight, in-house OB/GYN coverage for Labor & Delivery, obstetric triage, and emergency gynecologic care

  • Manage laboring patients, obstetric emergencies, and unassigned patients during night shifts

  • Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as clinically necessary

  • Work closely with nursing staff, anesthesia, neonatology, and daytime OB/GYN teams to ensure seamless continuity of care

  • Supervise and support OB/GYN residents during overnight shifts, as applicable

  • Engage in quality and safety initiatives related to obstetric care

  • Night shifts are organized to promote work-life balance; weekend and holiday coverage will be included as per the nocturnist schedule
