Overview

Under direction of head coach, assistant coach supports the activities of team including facilitation of practices, game preparation, recruitment, player support, and game management. Assistant coaches will support the team and assist with driving duties to and from competitions.

Responsibilities
  • Player/Team Development:
    • Assist in player development through facilitation of practice activities.
    • Provide individual coaching to improve players' skills and performance.
    • Develop and implement customized training programs to enhance skills and performance.
    • Collaborate with head coach to provide constructive feedback to players to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Leadership and Motivation:
    • Assist in fostering an environment that foster academic success and accountability.
    • Refer athletes to student support services as necessary.
    • Inspire and motivate players or team members to achieve their full potential.
    • Serve as a role model for professionalism and ethical behavior.
  • Communication and Recruitment:
    • Promote the team and work to recruit and maintain team members.
    • Effectively communicate with players, team members, parents, and other stakeholders.
    • Provide clear instructions and feedback in a constructive manner.
    • Keep stakeholders informed about team progress, upcoming events, and other relevant information.
  • Player Welfare:
    • Monitor the physical and mental well-being of players or team members, elevating issues to head coach and/or Athletic Director, as necessary.
    • Address any concerns related to health, safety, or personal issues in a supportive manner.
  • Game Day Responsibilities:
    • Assist in the development of game strategies and analyze game file to identify strengths and weaknesses.
    • Remain composed under pressure and make quick decisions to adapt to changing situations.
    • Safely transport team and necessary equipment to and from events and competitions in Blackhawk Technical College vehicles as needed.
    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong focus and priority to instill the fundamentals of golf.
  • Excellent Communication Skills, including motivating and encouraging players.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Education & Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Education or related field or comparable work experience.
  • Two or more years of experience with support, preferably with coaching experience.
  • Hold a valid Class D Driver's License (standard driver's license) with clean driving record. (Insurance approval required to drive college vehicles.)
