Senior Software Engineer – Distributed Systems & Full Stack Development
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with expertise in designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native platforms. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience delivering enterprise-grade backend services, microservices architectures, and scalable cloud solutions. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, leadership in system design, and hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle. The candidate will be responsible for architecting high-availability platforms, driving technical innovation, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Software Architecture & Development
Design, develop, and maintain scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
Lead end-to-end software development from requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, deployment, and production support.
Develop backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java/Python.
Design REST, GraphQL, and gRPC-based service interfaces.
Build resilient and fault-tolerant systems utilizing modern reliability engineering practices.
Drive system performance optimization, scalability improvements, and architectural modernization initiatives.
Cloud & Platform Engineering
Architect and operate highly available services in AWS environments.
Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Design multi-region and multi-cloud solutions supporting high-volume workloads.
Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
Reliability & Operational Excellence
Establish observability, monitoring, and incident management practices.
Participate in on-call rotations and production support activities.
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for production issues.
Design resilient systems using circuit breakers, retry mechanisms, and fault-tolerant architectures.
Drive service availability, disaster recovery, and operational excellence initiatives.
Technical Leadership
Lead architectural reviews and technical design discussions.
Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on engineering best practices.
Collaborate with product, architecture, security, and platform teams.
Conduct technical interviews and contribute to engineering hiring efforts.
Influence engineering standards, coding practices, and platform strategies.
