A Fuel Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the distribution of fuel to various locations, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. Their primary duties include scheduling fuel deliveries, monitoring fuel levels at different sites, communicating with drivers and suppliers, and handling emergency fuel requests.
Key responsibilities: Scheduling Deliveries: Plan and dispatch fuel deliveries based on demand, fuel levels, and customer requirements. Monitoring Inventory: Track fuel levels at stations, terminals, or customer locations to prevent shortages. Coordinating with Drivers: Assign routes and schedules to fuel truck drivers, ensuring timely deliveries. Communication & Customer Service: Serve as the main point of contact between suppliers, drivers, and customers, addressing any issues or concerns. Compliance & Safety: Ensure fuel transportation follows all safety regulations, environmental policies, and industry standards. Emergency Response: Handle urgent fuel requests, reroute deliveries as needed, and resolve unexpected delivery issues. Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain logs of deliveries, fuel usage, and any incidents or delays for operational tracking.
Skills & qualifications: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of fuel logistics, safety regulations, and transportation protocols. Experience with dispatching software and GPS tracking systems. Ability to work under pressure, especially in time-sensitive situations. Prior experience in fuel distribution, logistics, or transportation is often preferred.
