Position Overview
The Central Texas Food Bank seeks a temporary social media assistant to support social media engagement and promotion of its annual fundraising campaigns. This temporary contract position will be responsible for developing engaging content, coordinating content collection, managing day-to-day social media activity, and growing audience engagement across CTFB's social channels.
The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with experience managing social media accounts, creating compelling content, and engaging online communities. Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, food, or influencer marketing industries is a plus.
Requirements
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, digital media, or related fields.
  • Two or more years of experience supporting digital communications, social media, content marketing, or related communications functions.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills with the ability to create engaging content for a variety of audiences and digital platforms.
  • Experience managing and publishing content across social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and emerging channels.
  • Working knowledge of social media trends, audience engagement strategies, analytics, and platform best practices.
  • Proficiency in photography, videography, graphic design, and multimedia content creation for digital platforms.
  • Experience producing and adapting content for social media and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to monitor and respond to online engagement professionally while maintaining organizational voice and brand standards.
  • Experience using social media management, project management, and content development tools such as Sprout Social, Asana, Canva, Microsoft Office, and similar applications.
  • Understanding brand standards and style guidelines, with the ability to maintain consistency across all digital communications.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion, with the ability to represent CTFB positively online and in community settings.

Your Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute day-to-day CTFB social media content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter).
  • Develop engaging social media captions and promotional messaging aligned with campaign goals.
  • Coordinate and oversee content collection.
  • Edit and produce short-form video content for social and digital channels.
  • Manage community engagement, including responding to comments, messages, and audience inquiries across platforms.
  • Organize and maintain content libraries, campaign assets, and social media materials.
  • Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities to increase awareness, engagement, and participation.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently while collaborating with campaign stakeholders.
  • Track social media performance and provide recommendations to optimize content and audience engagement.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Working Conditions
  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. However, social media never stops, and periodic after-hours event coverage will require your presence outside of these hours/days.
  • Environment: This position is a hybrid role with in-office and remote work, with a maximum of 20 hours per week, ending on September 14.
  • Travel: This position may require regular travel throughout the 21-county service area, including same-day trips using a personal vehicle or CTFB fleet vehicle, as well as occasional overnight travel for meetings, conferences, trainings, and special events.
