Job description
Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Operate government-owned heavy equipment including tractor trailers, trucks, forklifts, personnel lifts, trailers, generators, tractors, and weight handling equipment.
* Perform Operator Daily Checks (ODCs) prior to equipment operation.
* Conduct routine inspections in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.
* Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, fluid servicing, brake maintenance, tire replacement, hydraulic repairs, and other scheduled maintenance.
* Diagnose and perform mechanical repairs to maintain operational readiness of assigned equipment.
* Transport government equipment and materials on-site and off-site using commercial vehicles and tractor trailers.
* Complete maintenance reports, inspection reports, work orders, and service documentation.
* Submit recommendations for corrective maintenance and future repairs.
* Coordinate transportation requests through the Government Facility Service Ticket System.
* Safely operate equipment while complying with OSHA regulations and Department of Transportation requirements.
* Maintain all required operator certifications and licensing.
* Ensure proper care and accountability of Government Furnished Property.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
* Support emergency maintenance requirements and approved overtime when mission needs require.
* Comply with all security, safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

* Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or state equivalent required.
* Current DOT Medical Certification.
* Experience operating heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, forklifts, and trailers.
* Experience performing preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on heavy equipment.
* Must possess and maintain the qualifications, licenses, certifications, and operator authorizations required to safely operate and maintain a variety of equipment, including diesel generators, forklifts, stackers, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, box trucks, semi-tractor trailers (CDL required, as applicable), flatbed trailers, and various other equipment makes and models.
* Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
* Ability to safely operate equipment in accordance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and carry it up to 15 feet.
Preferred Skills: * Previous experience supporting the Department of Defense or Federal Government.
* Experience maintaining military or government fleet vehicles.
* Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or work order systems.
* Forklift certification.
* Mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) certification.
* Experience with hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and generators. Security Requirement: * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Travel Required: Occasional local and regional travel may be required to transport Government equipment. Overnight travel may be required on an infrequent basis.
