Full-time schedule includes:
  • 2 inpatient call shifts per week
  • 2 outpatient office clinic days per week
  • Every fourth weekend call rotation
  • Day call coverage only: 7:00am-5:00pm
  • No overnight call responsibilities

Join Atrium Health One Health as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) serving the Lake Norman community and surrounding North Charlotte region, with deliveries occurring at Atrium Health Lake Norman.

One Health currently operates practices across the greater Charlotte and Winston-Salem regions with specialties including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Sports Medicine, Rheumatology, OB/GYN, and Urgent Care. As a provider-led organization, One Health focuses on provider joy, reducing total cost of care, human experience, financial excellence, and care for all. Providers are supported by a strong operational infrastructure while retaining meaningful clinical autonomy-allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional patient care and building lasting relationships within the community.
This position offers a collaborative practice environment with a combination of inpatient Labor & Delivery coverage and outpatient office coverage in a general OB/GYN setting located in Cornelius, NC. The role supports the on-call physician in the hospital and includes responsibilities involving labor and delivery, obstetric triage, postpartum care, and assisting in the OR as needed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CNM seeking a balanced inpatient/outpatient role within a growing women's services division focused on high-quality, evidence-based care and long-term provider satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care
  • Support labor and delivery coverage in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Perform obstetric triage and postpartum evaluations
  • Assist in the operating room as needed
  • Deliver patient education and counseling related to pregnancy, reproductive health, and wellness
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to evidence-based best practices
  • Promote compassionate, patient-centered care throughout all stages of treatment

TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with current North Carolina licensure or eligibility
  • Board Certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program
  • Current RN and CNM licenses
  • DEA License eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Previous CNM or Labor & Delivery experience required
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care
