Job description

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – HIRING IMMEDIATELY
$1,000 Special Hiring Bonus | Guaranteed 40 Hours | Overtime Opportunities | Mileage Reimbursement | Company-Provided Training
Sagent is growing our Field Service team and looking for mechanically and technically skilled professionals who enjoy troubleshooting, solving problems, and working independently in the field.
As a Field Service Technician, you'll support customers throughout an assigned regional territory, servicing commercial equipment including scales, slicers, ovens, wrapping systems, packaging equipment, and related technology commonly used in grocery, deli, retail, and similar environments.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with plenty of independence — backed by training, experienced technicians, and technical support when you need it. Most service is performed within your assigned region, and technicians are typically home nightly.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • $1,000 special hiring bonus
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Mileage reimbursement for business travel
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits – eligible first day of month following hire date
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match up to 6% - full vesting after one year of service
  • Paid time off and company-paid holidays – 2 weeks of Paid Time Off + 2 Floating Holidays + 8 Holidays
  • Company-provided onboarding and technical training
  • Company-issued tools, laptop, and test equipment needed for the role
  • Assigned regional service territory — typically home nightly
  • Ongoing technical support and opportunities to expand your skills as our Field Service organization grows
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and PC-based equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and equipment installations
  • Diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate solutions
  • Work directly with customers to communicate findings and completed service work
  • Manage service calls and required documentation throughout your day
  • Maintain company-issued tools, equipment, and assigned service parts
  • Partner with technical support and other Field Service Technicians when additional expertise is needed
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience installing, repairing, maintaining, or troubleshooting equipment
  • Experience with electromechanical systems, electronics, instrumentation, equipment repair, maintenance, IT hardware, or a related technical field
  • Ability to learn new equipment, technology, and diagnostic tools
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage a field-based schedule
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Reliable transportation and residence within the assigned service territory
Technical education, formal training, and previous field service experience are preferred; however, we also value candidates with the right combination of hands-on experience, mechanical aptitude, technical ability, and willingness to learn.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE FIELD
Daily driving is an important part of this position, with travel throughout an assigned regional territory. Technicians are typically home nightly, although customer and business needs may occasionally require overtime, participation in an on-call rotation, overnight travel, or temporary support of another service region.
This is an active, hands-on position performed in a variety of customer environments. Technicians must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of field service work, with or without reasonable accommodation, and meet applicable safety, licensing, certification, and pre-employment screening requirements.
JOIN OUR TEAM
If you're mechanically inclined, technically capable, customer-focused, and ready to put your skills to work in the field, we'd like to hear from you.
