Position Overview

A.C. Moate Industries is seeking experienced Snow Plow Operators to support our winter snow and ice management operations in the Reno area.

The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-focused equipment operator who can respond quickly to changing weather conditions, operate independently, and safely service commercial properties during snow and ice events.

You must be comfortable working overnight, early morning, weekend, and extended shifts when winter weather requires it.

Job Responsibilities

Snow & Ice Operations

  • Operate snow plow trucks and snow removal equipment
  • Clear snow from commercial parking lots, roadways, entrances, and access areas
  • Apply salt, deicer, and other ice-control materials as directed
  • Follow assigned snow routes and property-specific instructions
  • Monitor site conditions and identify areas requiring additional attention
  • Maintain safe and efficient production throughout snow events
  • Communicate changing conditions, property issues, and completed work to management
  • Assist with additional snow removal activities when necessary

Equipment & Vehicle Responsibilities

  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Safely operate trucks, plows, spreaders, loaders, and other assigned equipment
  • Report equipment damage or mechanical problems immediately
  • Keep assigned equipment clean and ready for deployment
  • Follow proper procedures for loading and applying deicing materials

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and winter operating procedures
  • Operate equipment safely around vehicles, pedestrians, buildings, curbs, and other obstacles
  • Follow applicable DOT and OSHA requirements
  • Maintain awareness of changing weather and road conditions
  • Immediately report accidents, property damage, or safety concerns

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience operating snow plows, trucks, heavy equipment, or similar machinery preferred
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • CDL preferred but not required for all positions
  • Ability to safely operate equipment in snow, ice, and low-visibility conditions
  • Ability to follow routes, site maps, and property-specific instructions
  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to work on short notice
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Must be available during snow and ice events, including nights, weekends, holidays, and early mornings
