USESI is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic dispatcher to join our Distribution Team. This position will be located in our Cranbury, NJ location.
Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Scheduling: Develop and optimize transportation routes using route-planning software to minimize travel time, fuel costs, and operational expenses.
  • Coordination with Drivers and Transportation Manager: Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and Transportation Manager to confirm routes, adjust, and solve any issues that arise during transit.
  • Real-Time Problem Solving: Monitor active routes and respond to delays, traffic issues, or unexpected changes, adjusting as needed to maintain schedules.
  • Compliance and Safety Monitoring: Ensure all routes comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation, driver safety, and hours of service.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Route Optimization Software: Proficiency in route-planning and fleet management software, such as Innovo, or similar tools.
  • Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail for scheduling, compliance, and tracking routes efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Ability to think on your feet, especially under pressure, to manage delays or unforeseen obstacles.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with drivers, managers, and customers.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to ensure efficient route management.

Education and Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is generally required. A degree in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatching is often preferred.
  • Certifications: Certification in transportation logistics or fleet management is a plus.

Working Conditions
  • Transportation Routers typically work in an office setting with frequent communication with Loading , and Drivers.

They may work irregular hours, especially if overseeing routes that operate overnight or over long distances.
Reporting Structure
Transportation Router will report to the Transportation Manager.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to move heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Must be dependable and team-oriented
