Description

Concept Solutions is seeking an experienced Aircraft Operations Center Software Development Lead to lead the design, development, modernization, integration, and sustainment of mission-critical software applications supporting aviation operations and airborne data collection. This hands-on technical leadership role is responsible for guiding Agile development teams, delivering secure and scalable software solutions, and sustaining production applications that support hurricane reconnaissance, atmospheric research, and environmental data collection. The ideal candidate has experience leading enterprise application development, mentoring technical teams, and delivering reliable software in complex operational environments.

This position is contingent upon contract award and may require successful completion of customer-specific screening and clearance requirements.

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise and mission software applications.
  • Provide technical leadership to Agile development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Design and develop secure web applications, APIs, dashboards, system integrations, and workflow automation solutions.
  • Modernize legacy applications using cloud-native technologies and contemporary development frameworks.
  • Architect, deploy, and support relational databases and the front-end and back-end applications that use them.
  • Support scientific and airborne data acquisition systems through development, integration, and sustainment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and deliver high-quality software products.
  • Implement DevSecOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control, and secure coding standards.
  • Provide Tier 1 through Tier 3 support for custom developed software, including troubleshooting, performance optimization, and enhancements.
  • Establish development standards, perform code reviews, mentor software engineers, and prepare technical documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years leading and supporting software development teams.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and CMMI Level 3 development processes.
  • Strong proficiency with C#/.NET and .NET Core, JavaScript, and SQL database technologies including SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, REST APIs, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
  • Experience with configuration management, change management, and formal release management.
  • Knowledge of secure software development, cybersecurity principles, and Section 508 accessibility.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance and to work on-site in Lakeland, FL.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enterprise IT modernization experience.
  • Experience supporting aviation, maritime, scientific, or other mission-operations environments.
  • Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-native development.
