Shift: 24/7 days (6am - 6pm) - 6:00 am - 6:15 pm (24/7)
Pay & Total Rewards
The pay range for this position is $24.50-$34.30 per hour, along with additional compensation through overtime and 10% shift differential when working an off-shift. Position Summary
As a Level III Machine Operator, you'll be a key member of our manufacturing team, producing fluid-system components that meet the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist with proven ability working independently, troubleshooting equipment and processes, and performing machine changeovers while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
You'll have the opportunity to use your expertise every day while continuously expanding your technical knowledge with exposure and experience working on a variety of machines in a clean, safe, modern, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. You'll be provided all the tools and gauges necessary to be successful in you r role. If you're an experienced machine operator who enjoys solving problems, has a strong mechanical aptitude, and is dedicated to pride and precision in your work, this might be the opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
Your day will include a variety of responsibilities that keep production running safely and efficiently, including:
  • Follow Swagelok's production system (SPS) such as participating in a daily shift start-up meeting with your team. You'll give or receive a shift handoff report that sets the incoming or outgoing shifts up for success.
  • Operate and changeover manufacturing equipment according to standard work instructions and production schedules.
  • Follow quality plans according to specs. Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, ring gauges, dial indicators, smart gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Monitor machine outputs for quality, adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machining, tooling, and process issues independently.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and coordinate or escalate repairs when needed.
  • Document production activities accurately and maintain manufacturing records.
  • Suggest process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, or safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures.
  • Train and mentor less experienced operators

What Makes You Successful
We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has a strong mechanical aptitude takes pride in producing high-quality parts, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Successful candidates will have:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 30 months of machining or manufacturing experience (or current qualification as a Swagelok Level II Machine Operator)
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and metal cutting equipment including:
    • Experience with machine set up, blueprint reading, and basic programming
    • Troubleshooting machining equipment
    • Knowledge of tooling in machining with ability to use form tools, shave tools, drills, reamers, thread rolling, cams, gears, and more
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve machining issues.

  • A willingness to work overtime hours as needed

Physical Requirements
This position requires working in a manufacturing environment and may include:
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Lifting materials weighing 25-35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Working safely around manufacturing equipment.
  • Passing required vision acuity testing, where applicable.
