The Field Service Technician is responsible for supporting the successful installation, start-up, and ongoing performance of Komline’s equipment at customer sites. The Field Service Technician leads on-site commissioning efforts, performs detailed equipment inspections, and ensures systems operate safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the on-site start-up, commissioning, and optimization of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Conduct detailed equipment checks, verify installations, and ensure readiness for customer operations
  • Analyze and record performance data during equipment tests to ensure peak efficiency
  • Perform repairs and conduct preventative maintenance on company equipment in the field to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and project teams to meet project timelines for newly installed equipment
  • Create clear and concise technical reports to maintain and provide punch lists for project closeouts

Required Qualifications

  • A background in engineering, technical services, or related fields (degree preferred but not required with equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of field service experience, including proficiency with mechanical systems, electrical systems, and high-speed rotating equipment
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
  • Familiarity with control panels, motor starters, AC/DC drives, and instrumentation
  • Strong organization to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to write and verbally communicate to build rapport with teams and customers
  • Ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction through attention to detail and problem-solving 
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments with extensive travel (up to 75%, including long-term assignments domestic and international)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with programmable controllers and operator interface terminals
