Job description

We are looking for a CNC Lathe Machinist to join our Avalign Integrated Medical team located in Mentor, OH on a 1st or 3rd shift schedule.

The CNC Lathe Machinist operates conventional, special purposes, and numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate parts according to customer specification.

What You'll Do:

  • Independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot Star CNC Swiss machines to produce precision medical implants.

  • Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and adjustments as needed to maintain tight tolerances.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions to ensure parts meet customer specifications.

  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators to inspect machined parts.

  • Perform routine maintenance and daily preventative maintenance (P.M.) on machines.

  • Document production activities, including first-piece inspection logs, maintenance records, and work orders.

  • Follow strict quality control procedures, including ID & traceability protocols.

  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize machining processes.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles.

What You'll Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification a plus).

  • Min 3 year of operating and setting up CNC Lathe machines

    Min 1 year of experience reading blueprints.

  • Min 1 year of GD&T experience, measuring tolerances using micrometers, calipers and gauges

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

You should be proficient in:
