Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Events department, managing and coordinating all on‑property conferences, catering functions, events, and audio‑visual services.
  • Maintain a strong partnership with the Sales team to maximize revenue opportunities, monitor group pickup, room blocks, and contractual attrition in collaboration with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Revenue Management.
  • Build and maintain long‑term client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and encouraging repeat business through consistent communication and service excellence.
  • Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and group resumes for corporate and social events, ensuring accuracy and alignment across all departments.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads to communicate event specifics, support operational needs, and ensure seamless execution of all group functions.
  • Monitor and manage the department’s operational budget, maintaining strict cost controls and ensuring efficient use of resources while reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Hold a minimum of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent two‑year specialized training, education, or experience relevant to the field.
  • Bring 3–5 years of experience in the same or a closely related industry, demonstrating strong knowledge of conference services or event management operations.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to support operational and client‑focused responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate strong industry knowledge, professional judgment, and the ability to manage complex tasks within a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment.
  • Exhibit reliability, professionalism, and the capability to represent the department and property in a polished, client‑facing manner.
  • Maintain the flexibility to support diverse operational needs, administrative tasks, and on‑site event functions as required.
