Job description

Do you enjoy fixing things and working with your hands? Join a company that’s been in business for 97 years and is a national leader in supplying and operating arcade games, pool tables, dart boards, jukeboxes, cranes, and vending machines.

Shaffer is expanding our reach in the Dallas region and looking for skilled, dependable Arcade Game Field Service Technicians who take pride in troubleshooting, repairing, refurbishing, and installing fun.

What You’ll Do

  • Repair and refurbish arcade games, vending machines, pool tables, dart boards, ATMs, and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and basic computer/board issues
  • Respond to service calls and deliver a great customer experience
  • Assist with installation projects at Family Entertainment Centers across the U.S.
  • Help with equipment moves and deliveries (local and out-of-town)
  • Maintain service and equipment logs

Location & Travel: Based out of our Dallas-area office, Service Technicians will service customer sites within a 3-hour radius (daily travel). Approximately 50% travel is required for installation projects, typically 3–5 overnight stays per trip. Will need Real ID for air travel.

Work Hours: When not traveling, the schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (8-hour shift). As the team grows, flexibility is required to either transition to or rotate into an evening shift (approximately 1:00pm–10:00pm).

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–5 years of technical/mechanical experience
  • Field Service experience
  • Some night and weekend on-call/rotation availability for service calls
  • Arcade or amusement equipment experience is a plus
  • Maintenance or mechanic experience a plus
  • Valid Driver's License; Ability to pass MVR and criminal background histories. Clean driving record is essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude
  • Self-starter who works well independently
  • Customer-focused and dependable
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and use warehouse equipment
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and squat repeatedly
  • Ability to climb ladders (up to 12 ft) and work in tight spaces such as ceilings or attics
  • Willing to obtain a DOT medical card and drive a small box truck
