  CDL OPERATOR

Hensley Beverage Company is a multi-generational, family-owned Arizona beverage wholesaler that distributes a wide portfolio of beverages, including Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABI) beers, top-selling local and regional craft beers, premium non-alcohol beverages, and an extensive assortment of award-winning fine wines and spirits. We maintain a fine lineup of world-class products, and even more importantly, a strong team of world-class people.

Position Summary

We are looking for a full-time, customer service-oriented CDL Operator – Nights to join our Operations team. In this role, you will safely operate a CDL truck and/or tractor-trailer while supporting our overnight delivery and warehouse operations. Responsibilities include transporting products, completing assigned deliveries, ensuring accurate product handling, maintaining equipment, and providing exceptional service to our customers.

IMPORTANT

As a new CDL Driver with Hensley, you will begin your career in training as a CDL Operator (CDL Delivery Trainee) and start as an hourly, non-exempt employee (eligible for overtime). The training period is typically 30–90 days but may vary based on individual performance and training progress.

Upon successfully completing the training period, you will be promoted to a CDL Delivery Driver role and assigned to a route. Additionally, you will transition to an exempt salaried position (ineligible for overtime). Along with your salary, you will be eligible for various incentive programs, including a monthly safety bonus and weekly performance bonuses.

Position Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required by AZDOT.

  • Verify product load-out before leaving the facility.

  • Safely operate CDL vehicles during overnight routes and deliveries.

  • Deliver products to customer locations and obtain customer signatures for deliveries.

  • Collect and properly secure payments, checks, and delivery documentation when required.

  • Place products in designated storage areas at customer locations.

  • Pick up empty containers, kegs, or returned product as instructed.

  • Rotate product inventory and ensure proper stock management.

  • Maintain accurate delivery records and route documentation.

  • Communicate customer concerns, service issues, and competitive activity to management.

  • Check company communications daily, including invoices, memos, and operational updates.

  • Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of all assigned equipment and vehicles.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Work closely with Operations Leadership to ensure efficient overnight operations and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Must be at least 19 years of age or older.

  • Maintain a current and valid Arizona Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

  • Must have a clean driving record.

  • Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules as needed.

  • Good communication skills and positive attitude.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to interact with diverse personalities.

  • Ability to read code dates proficiently.

  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. for package products and up to 165 lbs. for keg products.

  • Must be able to work holidays as required.

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

  • Must have a cell phone with data capability (cell phone allowance provided).

  • Previous beverage industry experience is helpful but not required.
