Job description

The opportunity

As a First Officer, you will be a safety owner and trusted crew leader, working closely with your Captain and team to deliver a smooth, customer-focused operation. You’ll fly the 737NG across Avelo’s network, bringing a proactive, professional approach to every phase of flight.

What you’ll do
  • Operate the Boeing 737NG with precision and professionalism, prioritizing safety in all decisions.
  • Exemplify strong crew resource management and clear, respectful communication.
  • Deliver warm, reliable service that reflects Avelo’s customer-first mindset.
  • Adhere to company SOPs and all applicable regulations while maintaining on-time performance when conditions allow.
  • Stay current and proficient through company training, checking, and recurrent requirements.
  • Represent the airline with integrity during irregular operations and routine days alike.
Minimum qualifications
  • Valid First-Class Medical Certificate with at least three months’ validity at hire.
  • ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) certification; unrestricted ATP preferred. ATP-CTP completed.
  • Minimum 1,000 hours turbine time.
  • Minimum 1,500 total flight hours preferred.
  • Alternative R-ATP pathways:
  • — Military aviation experience and age 21+: 750 total time.
  • — Aviation Bachelor’s (Part 141): 1,000 total time.
  • — Aviation Associate’s (Part 141): 1,250 total time.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • U.S. citizen with a valid U.S. passport (6+ months’ validity).
  • Pass Department of Transportation pre-employment drug screening.
  • Able to work a rotating schedule with variable duty days up to 16 hours.
  • Available for nighttime/overnight hours, weekends, holidays, and multi-day trips away from home.
  • Clean background; eligible for required security clearances.
