As an Experienced 4-Car Carrier Driver, you play a crucial role in our logistics network, ensuring the safe and timely transport of vehicles. You operate specialized equipment, meticulously managing the loading, securing, and delivery of cars to various destinations. Your expertise directly impacts customer satisfaction and upholds our commitment to operational excellence. This role demands precision, a strong safety mindset, and a dedication to maintaining the integrity of every vehicle transported.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates a commercial motor vehicle with a CDL Class A license, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Executes efficient and safe car hauling operations, transporting up to four vehicles per load.
  • Applies advanced techniques for cargo securement, ensuring all vehicles are safely fastened to prevent movement or damage during transit.
  • Performs precise vehicle loading & unloading procedures, utilizing ramps and winches with expert care.
  • Complies strictly with all DOT Regulations, maintaining accurate logs and records.
  • Conducts comprehensive pre-trip inspections and post-trip inspections, identifying and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
  • Practices defensive driving techniques to navigate diverse road conditions and minimize risks.
  • Utilizes knowledge of route optimization to plan the most efficient and timely delivery paths.
  • Implements rigorous damage prevention strategies throughout the entire transport process, from pickup to delivery.
  • Communicates effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and operational readiness of the assigned carrier truck and equipment.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience
  • Holds a minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a commercial driver.
  • Demonstrates at least 2 years of dedicated experience in car hauling with multi-car carriers.

Knowledge/Skills
  • Holds a valid and current CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
  • Possesses expert knowledge and practical application of car hauling techniques.
  • Applies advanced skills in cargo securement for various vehicle types and sizes.
  • Executes proficient vehicle loading & unloading operations, including proper ramp usage and winch operation.
  • Understands and adheres to all federal, state, and local DOT Regulations.
  • Performs thorough pre-trip inspections and post-trip inspections consistently.
  • Practices proactive defensive driving strategies in all conditions.
  • Utilizes strong geographical knowledge and route optimization skills.
  • Implements effective damage prevention protocols to protect transported vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Holds certifications in advanced cargo securement or specialized vehicle handling.
  • Possesses experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems.

Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Ability to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to secure vehicles.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Works outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Performs duties that require manual dexterity and visual acuity.
  • Adapts to irregular hours and overnight travel as required.
