Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency water losses (including after hours/on-call)
  • Perform initial inspection and moisture assessment of affected areas
  • Extract standing water using professional-grade equipment
  • Remove non-salvageable materials (drywall, flooring, insulation, etc.)
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers)
  • Perform daily moisture readings and adjust drying plan as needed
  • Clean and sanitize affected areas to prevent microbial growth
  • Document all work performed, including photos, notes, and moisture logs
  • Pack, move, and protect contents when required (pack-outs)
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners, adjusters, and project managers
  • Ensure job site safety and proper use of PPE

Skills & Qualifications

Prior experience in water mitigation required (IICRC WTR Certification REQUIRED)

  • Knowledge of drying principles and building materials
  • Ability to use moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and extraction equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, crawling, standing for long periods)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Able to pass a background check. No felonies!

Certifications (Preferred or Required)

  • Water Restoration Technician (WRT) –Required
  • Applied Structural Drying (ASD) – Preferred

Work Environment

  • Exposure to water-damaged environments, including potential mold or contaminants
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Work may occur in confined spaces, attics, or crawlspaces
  • Irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and climb ladders
  • Work in high heat or humid conditions during drying operations
