Job description

You will own the operational design and execution of centralized detection and response capabilities for Amazon's North American security network. This role focuses on multiple emerging technology programs, including Visual Firearm Detection, Drone-as-First-Responder (DFR) operations, inbound screening, etc. You will be the person who converts these technologies from pilot concepts into operational realities with defined playbooks, trained operators, and measurable outcomes.
You will define how Central Monitoring Station (CeMoS) operators respond to weapons detection alerts, build coordination frameworks between the monitoring center and Remote Pilots in Command (RPICs), and develop the training and proficiency standards that ensure 24/7 operational readiness. You are building something new from the ground up.
Key job responsibilities
- Build the centralized monitoring model for 229 high-risk trailer yards, defining operator-to-site ratios, coverage schedules, and response SLAs
- Develop response protocols for yard-specific alert types: LPR hot-list matches, geo-fence violations, gate verification failures, and perimeter breaches
- Design the remote gate control workflow enabling CeMoS operators to hold/release electronic gates based on verification outcomes
- Own the GPS/fleet tracking monitoring capability, converting geo-fence alert data into actionable response for trailer theft prevention
- Own the operational delivery of a centralized video footage retrieval pilot for WHS incident investigations across 33+ North American sites, and scale the operation post-pilot
- Manage ticket queue performance against SLA targets, ensuring retrieval packages are delivered with acceptable turnaround time and investigation-grade quality
- Oversee 3P analyst team (4 analysts, day and swing shifts) including workload balancing, quality assurance, and performance coaching
- Define the expansion model for scaling from 33 pilot sites to network-wide deployment based on calibrated capacity data
- Own and scale the remote camera audit program across Worldwide Amazon sites, managing weekly MDF audits and monthly comprehensive audits
- Develop standardized investigation support packages (pre-analyzed intelligence, video evidence compilation, timeline reconstruction) for field S&LP teams
- Define intake criteria for investigation requests, prioritization logic, and delivery SLAs targeting 85%+ actionable outcome rate
- Coordinate with UK CRC and APAC iCMRS teams to share best practices and align investigation methodologies globally
- Establish and maintain operational dashboards tracking SLA performance, capacity utilization, and stakeholder satisfaction across all monitoring programs
- Conduct regular stakeholder surveys and use feedback to refine service delivery and expand use cases
- Build and manage the YB operator and 3P analyst staffing model for monitoring and investigation functions
- Produce monthly operational reports and contribute to Quarterly Business Reviews demonstrating bandwidth liberation and cost efficiency for field teams
A day in the life
Your morning starts with reviewing overnight alert performance from your various detection mechanisms and checking RPIC shift readiness at the AZA2 Regional Drone Operations Center (RDOC). You spend part of your day refining response SOPs based on real incident data, working with technology vendors on system tuning (adjusting detection thresholds, validating AI model accuracy), and coordinating with RPIC shift leads on drone dispatch protocols. You run scenario-based training exercises to keep operators sharp on high-stakes, low-frequency events like armed aggressor detection. When a new detection capability is ready to pilot, you own the operator training plan, define alert routing, and validate that the end-to-end response chain works before it goes live. You balance building for the future with making sure today's operations run without gaps.
About the team
CeMoS (Central Monitoring Station) is Amazon's global centralized security monitoring network, operating 24/7 control rooms across six locations (US, UK, Poland, India, Brazil, Egypt). The program is transforming security operations from a traditional guard-centric model to an intelligence-driven, technology-enabled approach that delivers real-time detection and response at enterprise scale.
The AMER CeMoS operation at AZA2 (Goodyear, AZ) is the North American hub, currently expanding from a camera audit pilot into a full-spectrum detection, monitoring, and investigation center. These roles are foundational to that expansion, standing up capabilities that do not exist today.
CeMoS sits within the Security Operations Group (SOG) under Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS). SOG is the operational execution layer for Amazon's physical security strategy, owning centralized monitoring, incident response, and law enforcement coordination across all programs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 5+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement experience
- 2+ years of mission critical, 24x7 operations experience
- Experience working with technology teams and solving operational issues using technology
- Experience triaging and developing security alerts and response automation, conducting front-line analysis, and providing escalation support
- Experience with analytical tools and ability to dive deep into metrics and reporting
- ability to get FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification in the first 90 days
- Experience working with or managing contract/vendor staff in an operational setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with video and image processing and compression algorithms and standards, computer vision and/or machine learning
- 8+ years of supply chain security, including management of third-party logistics providers, law enforcement, loss prevention, risk management, investigations or similar field experience
- Experience with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations or similar technical platforms, or experience interpreting flight monitoring systems or similar technical platforms
- Experience with Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) operations, centralized dispatch, or alarm monitoring (UL, FM, or equivalent)
- Experience with drone/UAS operations in a security, public safety, or commercial context
