Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Python Developer with 10+ years of experience to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing high-performance, scalable Python applications, with a strong focus on financial services solutions. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining applications that provide critical support to our financial operations and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Development: Develop robust, efficient, and scalable Python applications for financial products and services. Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to design technical solutions.
  • Code Review & Mentorship: Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and ensure best practices are followed in the development process.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability of the applications.
  • Data Integration: Work with large datasets and integrate data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and third-party services.
  • Financial Algorithms & Systems: Work on developing and maintaining financial algorithms, trading systems, or risk management tools to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Testing & Debugging: Write unit tests and conduct thorough debugging to ensure code quality and functionality. Use testing frameworks to maintain code integrity.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and architects, to ensure seamless product development and deployment.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document the development process, code changes, and system architectures. Provide regular updates and reports to leadership regarding project status and outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Python developer, ideally within the financial services industry.
  • Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Python, including advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming, functional programming, and Python best practices.
  • Frameworks & Libraries: Familiarity with popular Python libraries and frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, Pandas, NumPy, Celery).
  • Financial Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial markets, financial instruments, and related technologies (e.g., trading platforms, payment systems, financial analysis tools).
  • Database Management: Expertise in working with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB), and solid experience in writing complex SQL queries.
  • API Development: Experience with RESTful APIs, web services, and integration with third-party systems.
  • Cloud Technologies: Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Version Control: Proficiency in Git for version control and experience working in collaborative environments.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems efficiently.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial risk modeling, algorithmic trading, or data-driven financial applications.
  • Familiarity with Python-based data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Familiarity with machine learning or AI technologies, particularly in a financial context.
Certifications or additional training in financial services, such as CFA, FRM, or related fields
