Compensation:
  • Base salary starting at $90,000/yr

Position Summary
The HVAC Service Manager is responsible for the overall financial and operational performance of the Columbus Service business, including P amp;L management, profitable revenue growth, customer relationships, team leadership, and service operations.
This position requires a strong business and financial mindset with the ability to analyze financial performance, develop strategies for growth, manage expenses, improve margins, and hold the team accountable to established financial and operational goals. The ideal candidate is a business leader who understands HVAC service operations and can successfully balance customer service, employee performance, and profitability.
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the P amp;L and financial performance of the service business.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve revenue, gross margin, profitability, and growth objectives.
  • Review financial statements, profitability reports, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action.
  • Manage labor, material, fleet, equipment, and other departmental expenses to achieve financial goals.
  • Develop and maintain accurate revenue and profitability forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through service agreements, maintenance, repairs, retrofit/replacement opportunities, and new customer development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Monitor service profitability and implement strategies to improve margins and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee scheduling, dispatching, manpower, and departmental resources to maximize productivity and profitability.
  • Ensure service work is properly estimated, completed, documented, and invoiced.
  • Lead, develop, coach, and hold service personnel accountable for performance, productivity, customer service, safety, and financial results.
  • Retain a high-performing service team and develop future leaders.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding financial performance, business development, operational results, and opportunities for growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in HVAC service, mechanical services, construction, facilities services, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a P amp;L, budget, or significant operating expenses.
  • Proven ability to grow revenue while maintaining or improving profitability and gross margins.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and business KPIs.
  • Strong HVAC service knowledge and understanding of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Experience leading, developing, and managing employees.
  • HVAC license preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, negotiation, and business development skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business technology.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands amp; Work Environment
The position requires frequent visits to customer locations and job sites, including mechanical/equipment rooms and occasional rooftop access. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
