Store Manager - Denver Retail Store

Position Description

We're looking for individuals with experience working in the retail industry that possess a great understanding of welding processes and applications. The Store Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting the inside sales and delivery teams while ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth. This position requires a proven sales track record, extensive knowledge of welding processes and applications, and a solution-oriented approach to customer service and sales. Success in this role is achieved through strong customer relationships, technical expertise, employee development, and effective teamwork.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Create, develop, and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities for Outside Sales engagement.
  • Provide support and coordination for Outside Sales activities.
  • Lead, supervise, coach, and support store team members.
  • Price, barcode, stock, merchandise, display, and promote products to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Recommend and select products based on customer needs and applications.
  • Explain product features, safe operation, and proper care to customers.
  • Oversee the preparation and completion of sales transactions for will-call and delivery customers.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
  • Open and close store facilities in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate cash handling and balancing procedures.
  • Calculate pricing, finalize sales transactions, and process cash, check, and credit card payments.
  • Maintain knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate special orders and work with other locations to source requested products.
  • Financial accountability for inventory management, gross margin performance, and operating expenses.
  • Manage inventory accurately by conducting cycle counts and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Lead a safe facility maintaining compliance with OSHA, DOT, CGA, and company safety standards.
  • Manage performance by hiring, training, coaching, quarterly conversations, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular store meetings and effectively communicate goals, expectations, and business needs.
  • Identify and address security risks, inventory shrinkage, and theft concerns.
  • Ensure the security and protection of company facilities, assets, and inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional store environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Management or supervisory experience preferred (2+ years).
  • Welding knowledge or industry experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of welding processes and applications required.
  • Retail sales experience required; industrial distribution experience preferred.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred (2+ years).
  • Compressed gas industry knowledge preferred.
  • Understanding of the sales process and customer relationship management.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety regulations, compliance requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective relationship-building and solution-selling abilities.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new products, processes, and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
