PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – MICRO FULFILLMENT CENTER

Bolingbrook, IL | $19.00/Hour | 11 Openings | ASAP Start

We are hiring Pharmacy Technicians for a high-volume Micro Fulfillment Center in Bolingbrook, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with healthcare or pharmacy experience who are interested in building their career in a pharmacy operations environment.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN LICENSE/CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED TO APPLY.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure in the state of Illinois. The manager will assist eligible new hires with the application process on their first day.

If you have previously held an Illinois Pharmacy Technician license/registration, it must be active and in good standing on the Illinois Board of Pharmacy before you can be submitted.


Pharmacy Technician Position Details

• Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
• Location: Bolingbrook, IL Micro Fulfillment Center
• 11 openings

• Must be available for the required training schedule
• Must be 18 years of age or older


Pharmacy Technician Training Schedule

First Week:
• Monday–Thursday
• 4:30 PM–12:30 AM

Regular Schedule

• Monday–Wednesday: 9:00 PM–7:00 AM
• PLUS one additional shift:

  • Thursday: 4:30 PM–2:30 AM
    OR
  • Saturday: 2:30 PM–12:30 AM

Candidates must be flexible and able to work the assigned schedule.


Pharmacy Technician WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support prescription processing and automated pharmacy fulfillment operations while maintaining accuracy, quality, and compliance.


Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities include:

• Process new patient registrations using established prescription data-entry procedures and guidelines.
• Enter patient prescription and refill requests into the appropriate system while following HIPAA requirements.
• Review prescription information and troubleshoot missing or incomplete information.
• Interpret common medical abbreviations and SIG codes.
• Resolve data-entry exceptions and prescription processing issues.
• Operate automated pharmacy machinery and equipment.
• Sort medications and move inventory through various workflow stages.
• Perform quality-control checks throughout the fulfillment process.
• Count and fill prescriptions accurately.
• Affix prescription labels.
• Pack and prepare prescriptions for shipment.
• Clean and help maintain pharmacy machinery and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area.
• Research and resolve third-party insurance rejects by reviewing information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting claims according to plan requirements.
• Provide support and assistance to Pharmacists working within the facility and at other locations.
• Identify issues and escalate them to senior-level staff when appropriate.
• Follow all applicable pharmacy, HIPAA, safety, quality, and operational procedures.


Pharmacy Technician WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Healthcare or pharmacy experience required.
• Must be eligible to obtain Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure in Illinois.
• Pharmacy Technician certification is NOT required.
• Prior Pharmacy Technician registration is acceptable, but if previously licensed/registered, it must be active and in good standing with the Illinois Board of Pharmacy before submission.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to navigate internet browsers and search engines.
• Ability to accurately enter and retrieve information using computer systems.
• Keyboarding ability of at least 25 WPM.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and workflows.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work the required overnight and evening schedule.


Pharmacy Technician Physical Requirements

Candidates must be willing and able to perform job duties that may include:

• Standing and working for extended periods.
• Pushing, pulling, grasping, and reaching.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Operating pharmacy automation and other equipment.
• Performing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
• Working a flexible schedule, including overnight hours.


Pharmacy Technician Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Previous pharmacy, healthcare, medical office, or healthcare customer service experience.
• Experience processing prescriptions or pharmacy-related data.
• Experience with prescription data entry.
• Experience working with insurance or third-party prescription claims.
• Experience resolving third-party rejects.
• Intermediate or advanced keyboarding skills of 35+ WPM.
• Experience working in a high-volume production, fulfillment, pharmacy, or healthcare environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to consistently meet quality and productivity standards.


Pharmacy Technician WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY?

This role provides an opportunity to enter the pharmacy field without requiring an existing Pharmacy Technician certification. Eligible candidates will receive assistance with the Illinois Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure application process when they begin.
