Job description

Sewing Machine Operator 

WeatherTech Direct is seeking well-qualified Sewing Machine Operators to operate industrial sewing machines to produce parts.

This is a great opportunity to join our growing company!

  • Sewing Machine Operators have base rate of pay starting at $20.50 per hour or more depending on experience with a $1/hour shift premium for 2nd shift.
  • Employees who demonstrate EXCELLENT performance, attitude, and punctuality have the potential to earn end of year bonuses and pay increases!

As a Sewing Machine Operator, you will

  • Operate industrial sewing machinery and equipment utilized in the production process
  • Use CNC cutting machine to cut fabric into correct shapes
  • Lift and transfer raw material, finished product and packed materials from conveyors and tables
  • Create and print labels using ERP system
  • Clean, label and pack finished product
  • Ensure all inventory is stocked and put in the correct location using an RF Scanner
  • Ensure all quality standards are met
  • Accurately complete all the required job paperwork on assigned tasks
  • Inspect part to ensure it meets quality standards; notify production lead or quality department of any defects/substandard parts
  • Communicate with supervisor and managers regarding issues that occur affecting people, equipment, or materials
  • Train new and existing team members on different functions of the production area to ensure all are able to perform all tasks properly; share knowledge and best practices to help aid efficiency and productivity
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and company procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1-year prior experience with commercial sewing
  • Basic knowledge of threading and sewing machine maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently
  • High attention to detail
  • Must be able to read and understand verbal and written work orders/instructions in English
  • Availability to work weekends and overtime, as needed
  • Team player with a good attitude and strong work ethic
  • Be dependable, with excellent attendance record
  • Authorized to work in the United States
