Job Summary
Operate sewing machines including visual quality checks, donning and doffing of thread, element and spools. Transfer doffed production to proper buffing zone. Must understand the metric system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual quality checks using an eyepiece or loupe to ensure that product is within specification.
  • Identify and remove defective product; requires the use of stapler and scissors.
  • Replace raw materials as needed. Visually inspect raw material before placing onto the sewing machine. Top off any oil reservoirs if needed.
  • Identify the reason that machine has stopped; repair any raw material related problems. Refer other mechanical problems to Mechanic or TE.
  • Ensure quality remains within product specifications through routine quality checks.
  • Record daily production and tag doffed product with appropriate job card.
  • Must be able to follow detailed instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management

Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED (minimum)

Hearing protection must be worn at all times and protective eyewear must be worn in certain situations as defined in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Quality checking requires the use of an eyepiece or loupe.
