Job Description
Title: RN - Ambulatory/Outpatient PACU
Schedule:
- Shift: 8-hour days only; consideration for 4x8 or 5x8 scheduling
- Shift times: Mix of 06:00-14:30 and 07:30-16:00
Assignment Details:
- Required end date: Unit closes 11/25/2026
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years RN experience required
- Required certifications: ALS, BLS, PALS
- Ambulatory/outpatient PACU experience
- Ability to start and maintain IVs
- Pre/post-op care: discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, obtain operative/procedural consent
- Familiarity with malignant hyperthermia protocol; pain assessment and management
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in the outpatient PACU setting for a diverse patient population including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Monitor and assess patients recovering from procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Administer medications and manage post-operative care, including pain management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
Compliance / Notes:
- RTO/Time-off: Up to 7 days auto-approved RTO (no holidays), no RTO during the first week, and all RTO must be pre-approved.
- Pre-start testing: Candidate must go into the lab within 48 hours after signing; all testing must be completed within 48 hours.
- Specialty testing: Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
- Vaccines: COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only).
