As a PRN Pre-Op/PACU RN, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every patient feels safe, supported, and cared for from the moment they arrive through recovery and discharge.

What You'll DoPre-Operative Care
  • Perform comprehensive pre-operative nursing assessments, including medical history review, medication reconciliation, and vital signs.
  • Ensure informed consents, documentation, and pre-op checklists are complete.
  • Start IVs and administer pre-operative medications as ordered.
  • Educate patients and families on the surgical process and answer questions with compassion and confidence.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care.
Post-Anesthesia Care (PACU)
  • Provide expert nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia.
  • Monitor airway, breathing, circulation, neurological status, pain, and surgical sites.
  • Administer post-operative medications, including pain management and antiemetics.
  • Recognize and respond quickly to post-anesthesia complications.
  • Prepare patients and families for discharge by providing thorough education and recovery instructions.

What You Bring
  • Current, unrestricted Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in PACU, Pre-Op, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or a similar acute care setting
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and a patient-first mindset
