Job Title: RN Outpatient (Onco)
Location: San Diego, CA 92120
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: Day Shift | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Local Pay: $70/hr. on W2
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join an outpatient oncology team in San Diego, CA. This is a hybrid role where the RN will support bone marrow procedures at the SDMC location 1-2 days per week and provide direct patient care at the Zion Infusion Center on the remaining days.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients in an outpatient infusion setting.
  • Assist with bone marrow procedures by:
    • Processing specimens.
    • Placing specimens into appropriate containers.
    • Preparing pathology slides.
    • Completing required documentation.
    • Delivering specimens to the Pathology Laboratory.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure quality patient care.
  • Support safe administration and monitoring of oncology treatments.
  • Float between Zion, Otay Mesa, and San Marcos locations based on operational needs.
Note: Patient sedation will be managed by the Interventional Radiology (IR) RN. The Oncology RN is responsible only for specimen handling during bone marrow procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Active California RN License.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Recent Oncology/Chemotherapy nursing experience.
  • ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) Certification required.
  • Previous travel nursing experience required.
  • Ability to float between multiple outpatient clinic locations as needed.
