Starting pay: $25.00 per hour
Pay increases to $27.00 per hour following successful completion of the 60-day probationary period

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Ability to follow directions, accurately receive, comprehend, and follow instructions from dispatch, including efficient handling of delivery tickets.
  • Drive truck in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Inspects destination job sites to verify the truck can be safely maneuvered.
  • Maintains radio contact with dispatch.
  • Cleans out and rinses chutes and the rear of the truck between loads.
  • Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports vehicle condition.
  •  Immediately report mechanical problems, safety concerns, accidents, damage, or maintenance needs. 
  •  Review delivery tickets and verify the correct customer, job-site address, concrete mix, quantity, and delivery instructions. 
  •  Inspect the delivery area and confirm that the truck can enter, operate, and exit safely. 
  • Performs daily vehicle maintenance including checking fluid levels and adding fluids as necessary, lubricating as needed, fueling the truck as necessary, and at the end of each day, replacing mud flaps, etc. May assist mechanics with vehicle repair.
  •  Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, company policies, plant procedures, and job-site safety requirements. 
  •  Attend required safety meetings, driver training, mixer-operation training, and company meetings 
  •  Maintain a clean, organized, and professional truck. 
  •  Follow approved washout procedures and environmental requirements. 
  •  Perform other related duties assigned by management. 

 Qualifications
 Preferred candidates will have: 
  •  A valid Class B CDL or Class A CDL. 
  •  Air-brake qualification without an air-brake restriction. 
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a current DOT Medical Qualification.
  •  Previous ready-mix concrete truck experience. 
  •  A safe and acceptable motor vehicle record. 
  •  Knowledge of ready-mix delivery procedures, mixer controls, chutes, slump, washout, and job-site safety. 

Physical and Work Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
  • Frequently enter and exit a commercial mixer truck.
  • Climb steps and ladders while maintaining three points of contact.
  • Sit and drive for extended periods.
  • Stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, push, and pull.
  • Handle and position concrete chutes and related equipment.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Work safely around wet concrete, moving vehicles, heavy equipment, dust, noise, vibration, and active construction operations.
  • Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, and changing weather conditions.
  • Work at elevated areas of the truck when inspections or cleaning duties require it.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment throughout the shift.
